About the Author: Rob Sanders
Rob Sanders is a celebrated children’s book author and is known as one of the pioneers in the area of LGBTQIA+ literary nonfiction picture books. He is the author of PRIDE: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag, Stitch by Stitch: Cleve Jones and the AIDS Memorial Quilt, and many more groundbreaking and important books for young readers.
About the Illustrator: Harry Woodgate
Harry Woodgate (pronouns: they/them) is an award-winning author and illustrator who has worked with clients including National Book Tokens, Google, The Sunday Times Magazine, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Walker Books, Andersen Press, Bloomsbury, The Washington Post, and Penguin Random House. Growing up I never had any books or months celebrating loving certain people. It really shouldn’t be a big thing what you’re attracted to, and yet it’s the only subject some people want to talk about. Truly, if they were a hero, what body parts they preferred in their romantic lives really shouldn’t matter. It’s disappointing that we want to make it about that and not just celebrate heroism for the acts/behaviours themselves.
